The Faculty of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, Khulna Agricultural University (KAU) was established in 2019, and started its academic program from 2020. The Faculty offers a 4-year BSc in Fisheries (honors) program following a credit-based structure (8 semesters). The faculty is comprised of six departments (Department of Fishery Biology and Genetics; Department of Aquaculture; Department of Fishery Resources Conservation and Management; Department of Oceanography; Department of Fisheries Technology and Quality Control; Department of Fish Health Management). There are quite certified teachers in every academic department. In addition to teaching and learning, the faculty’s departments have established a noteworthy research environment in various branches of fisheries science. In light of this, we have developed a curriculum that assures an internationally standardized fisheries education, allowing students to apply their newly gained knowledge to boost fish production after completing their studies. The curriculum covers most of the subjects that are at present quintessential for the exploration, exploitation and usage of both inland and marine fishing resources. The faculty members frequently seek research funding from many government agencies, including Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Fisheries & Livestock and Khulna Agricultural University Research System (KAURES). Those academicians have completed a number of research projects in a short amount of time and published their findings in prestigious journals. Currently, there are 81 students enrolled in 3 batches of the undergraduate program. The faculty will be armed by well-equipped graduate and undergraduate laboratories, a conference room, a library with cyber room, hatchery and wet laboratory complex and an enriched pond complex.
